Tourism ‘Oscars’?

That’s right, you heard correctly. York held its annual tourism ‘Oscars’ on the 3rd June, handing out awards to its top attractions.

The Visit York tourism awards have now approached their 18th year and continue to celebrate those that put in that extra effort in the city’s tourism industry. Over 500 businesses went to the awards held at Grand Station Hall, National Railway Museum.

From those that scooped awards, it was York Maze that scored a hat-trick, including a new category, Best Family Friendly Experience – a public vote. Of the awards, York Maze claimed the award for Best Visitor Attractions drawing in over 50,000 visits.
